The New England Lean Consortium will be holding its November 2017 Lean Leaders Meeting at Volk Packaging in Biddeford, ME on Wednesday, November 8th. Current members include companies from Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
Volk Packaging designs, manufactures and distributes high quality corrugated and foam products including shipping containers, inner packaging and stock boxes throughout New England. Volk Packaging is a third generation family owned and operated business offering the service and attention not available from the large paper companies. Anyone can sell a corrugated box or foam packaging, Volk Packaging offers much more than that. The Volk team has dedicated associates servicing customers beyond all expectations. At Volk Packaging, customer service starts with the Volk family.
A Lean Consortium is a group of companies and organizations that get together to help each other on their Lean Continuous Improvement journey. A Lean Consortium is facilitated by a Lean CI professional.
The Consortium brings together local companies and peers to share, learn and grow with each other on their Lean journey. Member Companies share Best Practices and Resources in order to bring their Continuous Improvement Program to the next level.
Meeting Content A Lean Leaders Meeting is an opportunity to learn new approaches to improving a Continuous Improvement Program. Attendees at these meetings can always walk away with some new ideas or new tools that they can apply at their own place of work. The host company benefits from the Meeting through the Plus/Delta Feedback Session as many improving ideas are offered during the session. The main benefit of a Lean Consortium is the fresh pair of eyes that come to a member company, and see the obvious waste. Attendees ask the Why? questions. Why do you do that? Why do you do it that way?
Volk Packaging is a high mix, low volume corrugated box manufacturing plant. They have focused on quick change overs and flow as part of their Lean Program. Volk is very focused on serving the customer and does whatever it takes to service the customer. Volk is in the middle of a rapid growth phase, and they will discuss the measures they have taken to support a growing business. The attendees at a Lean Leaders meeting are all Lean Practitioners, possessing great experience, expertise and skills in Lean. The attendees offers their suggestions for improvement based on what they see and what they hear. It is a great opportunity to have a team of leading Lean Practitioners tour your plant and provide positive, reinforcing feedback.
You are invited to come and experience the Synergistic Power of a New England Lean Consortium Lean Leaders Meeting.
