The New England Lean Consortium will be holding its October 2019 Lean Leaders Meeting at IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA, on Friday, October 18, 2019.

The Consortium brings together local companies and peers to share, learn and grow with each other on their Lean journey. Member Companies share Best Practices and Resources in order to bring their Continuous Improvement Program to the next level. Meeting Content The company presentation will provide a brief history and overview of the company. The presentation will also include a discussion of how Lean has helped IPG Photonics free up floor space, and shorten the assembly time, which in turn significantly increased production capacity. A Plant Tour of the Assembly area will follow the presentation.
The plant tour will showcase the assembly of the very large Laser Cube, the Multi-Axis Machines and the newer, smaller Multi-Function machines. The plant tour will also focus on the Lean applications of Cell Design, Flow, 5S, POUS, and Kanbans. At the end of the tour, the attendees will participate in a Plus/Delta feedback session and offer their suggestions for improvement based on what they saw and what they heard.
